Hidden in the Tall Grass

Almost invisible, a young impala lies hidden among the tall grass of the African bush. Only its large, alert ears and curious eyes betray its presence. For young antelopes, camouflage is of vital importance; lying still offers protection against predators constantly searching for easy prey. This photo captures an intimate moment of vulnerability, alertness, and the ongoing struggle for survival in the wilderness.
