Staircase to the unknown

Behind a semi-open passageway, an abandoned stairwell unfolds in Fort de la Chartreuse. The light streaming in from the upper floor forms a sharp contrast with the dark spaces below. Graffiti, weathered brick walls, and rusting metal railings recall a past that is slowly fading. The composition gives the impression that the viewer is secretly discovering a hidden spot, while the light at the top of the stairs invites them to look further into what lies beyond.
